CII National Public Procurement Conclave 2020

As you might be aware of the total value of procurement of both Central and State Government organizations is over INR 5 Lakh Crore per annum. Procurement of goods and services in the right quantity, of the right quality, at the right time, at the right price and from the right source is a very important function for any Central or State Government agency.

Government e-marketplace (GeM) is a state-of-the-art public procurement platform that has used technology to remove entry barriers for bonafide sellers and has created a vibrant e-marketplace with a wide range of goods and services. GeM has around 1,720,377 products, 18,744 services available online and has crossed 3,072,668 orders worth INR 43,417 crores. Currently, there are about 41,699 buyer organizations and 316,479 sellers & service providers registered on GeM.

As per Rule 149 of the GFR-2017, procurement of Goods and Services by Ministries/ Departments of Central Government has been made mandatory for Goods or Services available on GeM. Envisaged by the Government of India, GeM strives to keep pace with the ever-evolving technological challenges and stakeholder aspirations. GeM has now introduced GeM 3.0, a more robust, flexible e-marketplace with an intuitive User Interface (UI) to make procurement simpler than ever.

In this context, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in partnership with Government e-Marketplace (GeM) is organizing the 4th Edition of CII National Public Procurement Conclave on 16-17 December 2020, Indian Habitat Centre, Lodi Road, New Delhi.
